Game #3: RIVERDOGS 14 Lookouts 7

Both teams were down a few players, but the Riverdogs were able to pull off the win against the Lookouts on Thursday night!

A huge thanks to Gary Bussey for covering my job as the scorekeeper! Gavin came home and told me that Gary did the scrapbooking! hahahaha Thanks Gary for covering!

The DAWGS missed #6 Lance Phillips and #8 Griffin Dittner as they were on family vacations. The DAWGS also missed #4 Ian Turner because he was still not feeling well. Looking forward to seeing everyone back together next week though!

Coach Lance said that he was impressed with everyone on the Riverdogs during this game. He told me that Benjamin had an outstanding backhanded stop and threw the ball to second base for an out! He also said that Josh Bussey did a great job covering for Ian at first base! Plus, John Penry had three putouts in the sixth inning at pitcher. He was very happy with the Dawgs as team was playing with just 10 and not the normal 11.

Here's our OFFENSE:

Alex: 3-4 with 2 runs scored
Lawson: 3-4 with 3 runs scored
Luke: 3-4 with a double, 2 RBI and 2 runs scored

Jabril: 3-4 with 2 RBI
Gavin: 1-4 with 1 RBI
Jack B: 2-4 with a double

Thanks Stephanie for providing some pictures of the game! Don't forget to click on the photos to make them larger.

Game #2 vs Thunder...Canceled

The Riverdogs and Thunder showed up ready to play by 8am to warm up. During that time, the rain kept coming down and the conditions were not looking good. But, we were all sitting there with our umbrellas and waiting for the official word from a West Raleigh official.

The Riverdog coaches tried hard to get the field in playable conditions for West Raleigh.
But, the game just could not happen...
I went into the Dawgs' dugout to hopefully take a picture of some unhappy faces, but Coach Lance showed his lower lip on behalf of his team!
Some of the Riverdog coaches had to go back down to Nowell field to put the tarp on the pitcher's mound area. They are sporting quite the shorts!!

We are not sure when we'll make up the game against the Thunder, but Opening Ceremonies will be rescheduled as well.

The Riverdogs will face the Bulls tomorrow at 3pm! Make sure everyone is ready to play by 2pm at Nowell Field!

GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
