Tonight was the night! Season opener for the Riverdogs! It seems like all they've done is just practice. Well, I take that back. The team wasn't able to practice for a week due to the holiday weekend. Needless to say, everyone was ready for some game action!
Here's how we looked DEFENSIVELY...
1st inning:
Michael caught a fly ball at first for out #1.
John Ryan (pitcher) to Michael (first) for the last out.
Bobby was the standout behind the plate as the catcher!
There was one hit to the outfield (center to be exact) and our outfielders held him to a single.
2nd inning:
Michael caught a fly ball at first for out #1.
Christopher (second) to Michael (first) for another out.
One hit to the outfield for a single.
3rd inning:
The Lookouts scored 3 runs in this inning with 2 doubles, but our defense was incredible!
Christopher (second) to Michael (first) for out #1.
A double play by Gavin to end the inning (fly ball to shortstop, then threw the runner out at first to Michael)!
4th inning:
Gavin caught a line drive at shortstop for an out.
5th inning:
Sam (pitcher) to Michael (first) for an out.
6th inning:
A double play by Sam! He caught a fly ball at pitcher, then through the ball to Michael at first!
The final out was made by Jack (third) to Christopher (second)!!
Great job behind the plate Bobby, Blake and John Ryan!
The outfielders saw some action and were able to get that ball in quickly! Nice work Mark, Griffin, John Ryan, Sam, AJ, Blake, Will, Carter and Bobby!
OFFENSIVELY...
Gavin: Hit a nice double and had 1 RBI and 1 run scored
Jack: Hit the ball hard tonight
Michael: He had a nice single with 2 RBI
Mark: Infield hit
Christopher: He had 2 great hits tonight to the outfield
Griff: He had an infield single, ran it out and also had 1 RBI
John Ryan: He had an infield hit with a RBI
Sam: A nice hit to left with a RBI
AJ: Infield hit
Blake: Infield hit with 1 RBI
Will: He had 2 hits tonight
Carter: Hit the ball hard
Bobby: Infield hit to third
