Hayden Liggins went above and beyond selling the West Raleigh tickets!!! He and his family sold the most tickets at West Raleigh this season and he pushed the Riverdogs right up there and earned a FREE pizza party! We'll get that date soon! Thank you for supporting West Raleigh!

Game #5: RIVERDOGS 5 Bees 12

The Riverdogs had another late afternoon game today on Nowell Field when they faced the Bees. They scored 5 runs in the first inning and had a hard time getting the bats back after that to score more runs. Here's how we looked DEFENSIVELY...

1st inning:
Ben (shortstop) had an unassisted play at second for out #1
Nathaniel (pitcher) to Lance (first) for outs 2 and 3

2nd inning:
Hayden took part in a double play at third...he caught a fly ball, then threw the ball over to Lance at first!
Ben (shortstop) to Lance (first) for the last out

3rd inning:
Griffin caught an infield fly ball at second for out #1
Ben caught a fly ball at shortstop for out #2
Lance had an unassisted play at first to end the inning

4th inning:
Gavin (pitcher) to Lance (first) for outs 1 and 2

Gavin tagged the runner for out #1
Lance had an unassisted play at first for out #2

Alex made a great stop with the ball (I'm sure the laces of the ball are still implanted in his arm) in centerfield!

Game #4: RIVERDOGS 14 Thunder 6

The DAWGS earned their first win tonight!

The Riverdogs earned their first win tonight against the Thunder, 14-6...a very special day...Will's 6th Birthday!!!

Here's how we looked DEFENSIVELY...

1st inning:
Ben (shortstop) to Lance (first) for outs 1 and 2
Ben somehow managed to get on top of the ball that was going down the middle and touched 2nd base with a split second to spare to end the inning!

2nd inning:
Ben (shortstop) to Gavin (second) for 2 of the outs

3rd inning:
Griffin (second) to Lance (first) for an out
Gavin (pitcher) to Lance (first) to end the inning

4th inning:
Hayden caught a foul fly ball near the visitor's dugout for the first out

Bailey and Griffin W are really improving beyond the plate! Great job!!

Also, lots of improvement in the outfield with throwing the ball quickly into their infield teammates! A few times that saved us from doubles and held them to singles. Great job Alex, Nathaniel, Brock, Brayden, Bailey, Griffin W and Will!

We'll see what the "official" score comes up as for this game if it's 18-14 or 18-15! At any rate, we lost and our team is seeing some improvement at each game! With 8 new kids on the team...we are representing well! Keep up the great work DAWGS!!!

GREAT WORK IN THE OUTFIELD! You are all really learning to back up the infield. The last 2 games we've had to play with just 4 outfielders instead of 5 due to missing players. So, great work out there Alex, Nathaniel, Brock, Brayden and Will!

It was a close game! The Bats played great defense as we had a few hits right to them, but it was also great that we had some nice defensive plays and every player hit the ball and got on base! That's a big improvement from our first game over the weekend!

Eight Riverdogs experienced their first ever West Raleigh Minor League game today! The Riverdogs had quite the cheering section scattered all over Nowell field with friends and family. We played hard against the Scrappers in the heat! Here's how we looked DEFENSIVELY...

'Twas the Night Before the Dawgs' First Game...

The time is here...the time that everyone has been waiting for...the Riverdogs kick off the Fall season with a 1:15pm game against the Scrappers! But first...

We need to take part in the Opening Ceremonies...another tradition at WR. It is a time when ALL teams from ALL age groups are on one field...a few introductions...a huge thanks to our sponsors...a relay race...

The Riverdogs should be in full uniform by 10:45am...find Coach Dave there and the DAWGS!

Immediately following the ceremony, the Riverdogs will head to Nowell Field to go through their bp and pre-game drills. We are the visiting team.

Practice Change

We will be practicing Tuesday night this week and NOT on Wednesday night. I sent an email out about this change. Don't forget to turn in your raffle tickets at practice on Tuesday night to Coach Cailean.
