Game #4: RIVERDOGS 14 Thunder 6

The DAWGS earned their first win tonight!

The Riverdogs earned their first win tonight against the Thunder, 14-6...a very special day...Will's 6th Birthday!!!

Here's how we looked DEFENSIVELY...

1st inning:
Ben (shortstop) to Lance (first) for outs 1 and 2
Ben somehow managed to get on top of the ball that was going down the middle and touched 2nd base with a split second to spare to end the inning!

2nd inning:
Ben (shortstop) to Gavin (second) for 2 of the outs

3rd inning:
Griffin (second) to Lance (first) for an out
Gavin (pitcher) to Lance (first) to end the inning

4th inning:
Hayden caught a foul fly ball near the visitor's dugout for the first out
Gavin (pitcher) to Lance (first) for out #2
Gavin caught a high fly ball at pitcher to end the inning

5th inning:
Ben (shortstop) to Hayden (third) for an out
Griffin (pitcher) to Lance (first) for the last out

6th inning:
Ben (shortstop) caught a line drive for an out
Ben caught a fly ball at shortstop to end the game!!!

Bailey and Griffin W are really improving beyond the plate! Great job!!

Also, lots of improvement in the outfield with throwing the ball quickly into their infield teammates! A few times that saved us from doubles and held them to singles. Great job Alex, Nathaniel, Brock, Brayden, Bailey, Griffin W and Will!

OFFENSIVELY...

Gavin: 3-4 with 1 RBI and 1 run scored
Hayden: 3-4 with a double and 2 runs scored
Ben: 3-4 with 2 runs scored
Lance: 2-3 with 3 RBI and 2 runs scored
Griffin D: 3-3 with 1 RBI and 2 runs scored
Alex: 2-3 with a double, 4 RBI and 1 run scored
Nathaniel: 3-3 with 1 RBI and 2 runs scored
Brock: 2-3 with 1 RBI and 1 run scored
Brayden: 2-3 with 1 RBI and 1 run scored
Bailey: 1-3 with 1 RBI
Griffin W: 2-3 with 2 RBI
Will: 0-3 made contact with the ball and will get them next time!

After the post game talk with Coach Paul and earning bone stickers for their offensive hits and defensive plays...they headed on up to the picnic tables to take part in Will's 6th birthday party with some cupcakes! Happy Birthday!
