Game #14: RIVERDOGS 7 Scrappers 1

Saturday, May 12th marked the last day of the Spring 2012 regular season. Time flies! We ended the regular season with a win over the Scrappers, 7-1. Coach Lance took over the microphone and introduced his eight 8 year olds who would be playing in their last regular season game on Nowell Field. As a mom of one of those 8 year olds, I'm still in shock that they'll be moving up to the "big" field next year!

We missed Coach Dave helping out the team!!! Coach Lance did a great job pitching,  Coach Paul covered third base coaching responsibilities, Coach Cailean stayed at first and Coach Dan was in the dugout! A huge thank you! Coach Paul went in as the relief pitcher in the last inning. Nice work Coach Paul!

Here's how we looked DEFENSIVELY...

1st inning:
Started off going 1-2-3!
Luke (shortstop) to Ian (first) for out #1
Lawson caught a fly ball at second for out #2
Josh (pitcher) to Ian (first) for out #3

2nd inning:
Ian caught a fly ball at first for out #1
John (pitcher) to Alex (third) for out #2
Lawson (second) to Ian (first) for out #3

3rd inning:
Josh (pitcher) to Lawson (second) for the first 2 outs

4th inning:
A nice double play...Lawson caught a line drive at second...threw the ball to Ian at first to tag the base runner out!
John (pitcher) to Ian (first) for the last out

5th inning:
Alex (third) to Ian (first) for out #1
Lawson (second) to Ian (first) for out #2
Benjamin caught a fly ball in centerfield for the last out!

6th inning:
Lawson (second) to Ian (first) for out #1
Josh (pitcher) to Ian (first) for out #2
John caught a fly ball at third to end the game.
Another 1-2-3 inning!
